Sustainability for a better future with marine spill kits

Building a Sustainable Future Through Responsible Practices

At Port Denia Superyacht Marina & Shipyard, we are deeply aware of the ecological impact of the maritime sector. Committed to environmental stewardship, we continuously strive to adopt more sustainable practices that contribute to the conservation of our planet.

From implementing eco-friendly technologies in our operations to reducing waste and promoting clean energy solutions, our goal is to lead by example in the maritime industry.

We believe that a sustainable approach not only benefits the environment but also ensures a better future for the marine ecosystem and our community.

Environmental Responsibility

With the implementation of the ISO 14001 Management System, our company  has established an environmental policy that serves as a roadmap to achieve our environmental goals.

This ensures compliance with global standards and reflects our active commitment to sustainability in our shipyard and marina.

Urban Waste Segregation

We provide an urban waste recycling service by separating organic matter, plastics, cardboard, and glass. All these materials are managed by an authorized waste management company.

Hazardous Waste Management

The vessels we service produce various wastes, many classified as hazardous (such as batteries, oil filters, solvents, and coolants). We have established two eco-friendly stations within our facilities for the disposal of these wastes, which are then safely handled and processed by our certified partner.

Onshore Spill Kits (Sepiolite)

To prevent any spills within our premises, we have strategically placed sepiolite spill kits throughout the yard. This granular absorbent is highly effective for managing spills, including oils and fuels. Our staff is well-trained and quick to respond, using these materials effectively.

Marine Spill Kits (Barriers and Absorbents)

Similarly, we are equipped to respond swiftly to potential marine spills near our facilities. Our marine pollution prevention kit includes containment barriers, which are crucial for halting the spread of spills, and absorbents, which we apply once the spill is contained, to eliminate it completely.

Solar Energy Initiative

We have installed solar panels at our facilities to harness clean energy, significantly reducing our carbon footprint. We are planning to expand this initiative by installing additional solar panels to increase our capacity for renewable energy, furthering our commitment to sustainable operations.

Water Treatment Plant

Our upcoming water treatment plant will process waters entering our sedimentation system, separating clarified water from denser fluids and sludge. The establishment of this plant is a key part of our sustainability program and represents a significant advancement in our commitment to environmental stewardship.

We focus on continuous improvement, striving to enhance our environmental performance in both our shipyard and marina. Every action we take moves us toward a more sustainable future, reflecting our serious commitment to preserving our planet.”
