We have attended the inauguration of our shipyard expansion in Denia with a special event. Furthermore, the ceremony on our esplanade has included dignitaries such as Mr. Carlos Mazón Guixot, President of the Generalitat. Additionally, distinguished guests like Mr. Abel Matutes Juan, President of Grupo Empresas Matutes, and Mr. Vicente Martínez Mus, General Manager of Coasts, Ports, and Airports, has attended. Mr. Vicent Grimalt Boronat, Mayor of the Denia City Council, also has come.
Benefits of our shipyard expansion
This expansion significantly enhances the facilities in our shipyard, increasing its capacity for yacht repairs and accommodating vessels up to 65 meters in length. The expansion also positively impacts the surrounding businesses, fostering economic development and creating new opportunities. Enhanced infrastructure will attract more port activity and boost economic flow in local shops and businesses.
Increasing technical esplanade
This project received the green light in April 2022 after the Generalitat Valenciana approved a modification in the administrative concession. We began construction in June 2022 and completed it in August 2023. This initiative has resulted in an increase of 22,111 square meters in the technical esplanade area of our shipyard, reaching a total of 50,030 square meters after the expansion. Additionally, we have remodeled the auxiliary facilities, and have acquired a new travelift with a 620-tonne lifting capacity.
The total investment for this expansion amounted to 5,505,445 euros, fully funded by our company. The support of the Denia City Council was crucial in facilitating the necessary permits for the execution of the works.
The first yacht to use the new facilities was a spectacular 52-meter sailing yacht built by Alloy Yachts in 2008. The lifting with the new travelift and dry docking of this complex, large sailboat was a resounding success.
