The new edition of “Discover the Port of Denia” is back as a valuable educational project in our city. Launched by the Port Consultative Board of Dénia, this project celebrates its fourth edition. It aims to introduce secondary students to various companies in the Port of Dénia and the career opportunities available.
This year, about 300 students from six Denia schools toured the port.
As part of the project, students visited our shipyard facilities. Guided by our colleague Catalina from the Occupational Health & Safety department, she showed them various activities at the shipyard, from dry-docking luxury yachts to various refit tasks: repainting, rigging, marine engineering, and metalwork, among others.
A Broader Program
The organizers have expanded the activities by inviting the Spanish Navy, which delivered several talks. Students also had the chance to tour a Civil Guard patrol boat.
Additionally, the students explored other businesses within the port: Marina Dénia, Náutica Noguera, the Fishermen’s Guild, and Balearia, among others.
We will continue to support this project and look forward to participating in next year’s edition.
