Over the past year, we have been working on the expansion of Port Denia Shipyard. We designed this project to accommodate larger yachts while improving our services. The project started in June 2022, and we have completed the expansion in August 2023. Initially, we had a technical area of 27,919 square meters, which, after the expansion, has reached a total of 50,030 square meters—an increase of 22,111 square meters in workspace.
New ASCOM Travelift with a Lifting Capacity of up to 620 Tonnes
Thanks to the expansion of Port Denia Shipyard, we now have a larger operating surface and have also upgraded our auxiliary facilities. Moreover, we acquired a new ASCOM BHT 620 travelift. Due to its size, the travelift arrived disassembled at our shipyard. It was fascinating to watch the assembly process of the travelift’s different parts, coordinated by a specialist team from ASCOM. This same team trained us in operating the travelift and supervised the functional testing of this impressive machine. Having conducted the tests and verified that the travelift operates correctly, we are now fully prepared to work at an advanced level.
Land expansion for our shipyard
To facilitate the expansion, we first conducted a feasibility study, ensuring minimal environmental impact. During the construction phase, we drained the area to be expanded, backfilled it with soil, and compacted it. Subsequently, we applied a special cement to the surface to ensure high durability and readiness to withstand the tonnage of the ships we will place on it.
We have approached the entire process with great enthusiasm, and we can now host up to 9 superyachts of up to 65 meters in length. All that remains is to say: let’s get to work!
